Vanessa Bryant, the wife of NBA star Kobe Bryant, filed for divorce Friday afternoon, citing “irreconcilable differences.” They were married 10 and a half years.
Sources say that Vanessa decided to end the marriage because she thinks the Los Angeles Lakers guard has been unfaithful … and not for the first time.
As one source close to Vanessa put it, “She’s been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she’s finally had enough.”
“This one is the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
Vanessa Bryant famously stuck by Kobe after he was charged with sexually assaulting a Colorado woman in 2003 (he was acquitted of all charges).
Apparently the cheating didn’t end there, though, and while Kobe “desperately” wants to win her back and will do “whatever it takes” … good luck.
Vanessa is asking for joint custody of their two daughters, Natalia, 8, and Gianna, 5, but is asking that the basketball superstar get visitation rights
There is no prenup, so 29-year-old Vanessa is entitled to half the empire built over the last decade by NBA MVP and five-time champion Kobe, 33.
She’s also requesting spousal support, which Kobe will pay. The Bryants released a joint statement saying they have “resolved all issues” privately.
No word on whether Kobe plans on changing his uniform number yet again or if Vanessa plans on joining the new season of VH1′s Basketball Wives.
SIDE NOTE: That $4 million ring Kobe gave Vanessa after the 2003 scandal – later referred to as “the Kobe special” by Tiger Woods – all hers. Gift, babe.
Taking advantage of the beautiful weather, Vanessa Hudgens headed out on a bike ride with her sister Stella in Santa Monica on Tuesday (September 27).
The adorable sisters pedaled away on their beach cruisers as they looked to be thoroughly enjoying their leisurely bike ride through town.
During the course of the afternoon, the former “High School Musical” star tended to a few errands with a visit to the local Trader Joe’s among the items on her agenda.
On a side note, Vanessa took to Facebook to voice her liking of the new “How to Make It In America promo by Luis Guzman (watch above), as she wrote, “Love this Duck Sauce vid of Luis Guzman!! Who’s a How to Make It in America fan?”
Showing off her short cropped hairdo, Vanessa Hudgens closed out the work week with an afternoon of shopping with friends in Venice, CA on Friday (July 22).
The “Sucker Punch” star dressed for the summertime heat in a sleeveless grey top with a light pink hippie-style skirt as she drove her brand new Audi s5 to a local shopping center for the retail therapy session with her gal pals.
Making the most of the single life as of late, Vanessa recently told press, “It is important to love yourself. It is fun to look at cute boys. I like being single. I feel, I have all the time for myself.”
On the career front, Miss Hudgens recently wrapped up filming a movie titled “Gimme Shelter” – for which was the reason behind her shortening her brunette locks.
Co-starring Rosario Dawson and Brendan Fraser, the Ron Krauss directed drama is “about a pregnant teenager turned away by her Wall Street father because of her decision to have her baby. Forced into the streets, she embarks on a desperate journey of survival.”
Making the most of the Academy Awards festivities, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale were spotted hamming it up at the 19th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party last night (February 27).
The “High School Musical” costars looked super hot as they posed together at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
Vanessa also spent some time catching up with Nicole Richie and her hunky hubby Joel Madden at the exclusive shindig.
And Miss Hudgens got the gossip mills churning when she was seen flirting with her “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” costar Josh Hutcherson.
She may be single for the first time in years, but that isn’t stopping Vanessa Hudgens from smiling.
At her 22nd birthday party in Las Vegas, the actress was asked about her split from Zac Efron and replied simply: “We’re good.”
She had reason to be last night, celebrating the occasion at Pure Nightclub with a group that included Ashley Tisdale and Brittany Snow. Onlookers say Hudgens dancing on a couch at the VIP area inside the club, having a blast.
“I worked a lot in 2009. I did two movies back to back, so this year I just hung out, took it easy, did a play which was a lot of fun, did a movie and now the year is coming to an end before I know it.”

It took them four years of dating with a breakup in between before getting engaged, but it sounds as if a wedding may be right around the corner for Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo.
Unwilling to offer any specifics, the former 98 Degrees singer visited The Rachel Ray Show – during which time he hinted that nuptials may take place before we ring in 2011.
Lachey dished, “We’re going to be in Cincinnati with family, and hopefully having a white Christmas. We’re going to be in Tuscany for New Year’s. Who knows, we may be married in Tuscany, too!”
Having already been through the wedding planning process once with ex-wife Jessica Simpson, Nick said that he’s leaving everything up to his bride-to-be.
“I just basically told her, I said, ‘Tell me where to be, when to be there and what to wear, and I’ll be there,’” Nick revealed.

Drawing an end to the weekend with a red carpet appearance, Vanessa Hudgens was out in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday evening (September 19).
The “Sucker Punch” sweetie looked darling as she turned up at the Los Angeles premiere of “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” held at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
As for the upcoming film, the animated flick – which has a September 24 release date – is directed by Zack Snyder while starring Abbie Cornish and Ryan Kwanten.
A synopsis via IMDB tells: “Soren, a young barn owl, is kidnapped by owls of St. Aggie’s, ostensibly an orphanage, where owlets are brainwashed into becoming soldiers. He and his new friends escape to the island of Ga’Hoole, to assist its noble, wise owls who fight the army being created by the wicked rulers of St. Aggie’s. The film is based on the first three books in the series.”
Fueling up for her midweek duties, Vanessa Hudgens was spotted scooping up a hearty breakfast from a Studio City, CA grocery store on Tuesday (August 31).
Donning a cute Army cap, tank top and athletic pants, the “High School Musical” hottie looked sporty as she covered her face while passing by the always-present paparazzi.

Kicking off a three night onstage run, Vanessa Hudgens was front and center at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California on Friday night (August 6).
Looking ever-so-sexy, the “Sucker Punch” star got into her role of Mimi as danced around the stage and sang for the packed crowd – which included her hunky boyfriend Zac Efron.
Directed by Neil Patrick Harris, the Rent stage production is scheduled for two more sessions taking place tonight and tomorrow.
Joining Vanessa in the casting are Aaron Tveit, Wayne Brady and “Dancing with the Stars” champion Nicole Scherzinger.
