Rielle Hunter.
That name alone evoked anger and misery from Elizabeth Edwards until she passed away last week. Surprising? No. But the extent of the toll John Edwards’ affair and love child took on his ailing wife is being revealed for the first time.
Interviewer Daphne Barak has kept this information quiet until now, as Elizabeth requested. But now, in the wake of Eiizabeth’s tragic death last week, she tells us just what happened when the scorned wife learned of John’s indiscretions.
In March, Rielle Hunter posed half-dressed, with her baby daughter, in GQ, attacking Elizabeth and sending messages that she and John were still an item.
After years of being lied to, Elizabeth couldn’t take it anymore.
“Elizabeth collapsed and had to be hospitalized immediately after that article was published,” Daphne says, adding that she was asked to keep quiet about it.
Elizabeth’s reasons for keeping her collapse from the public were both obvious and more subtle. She wanted to remain a bastion of strength for her children.
Also, there was pride and not wanting to show weakness.
“This isn’t the only time Rielle Hunter’s presence silently hung in the air,” Barak said. “On March 8 when I picked up the telephone to Elizabeth, I told her that I was at the Regency hotel in New York for dinner. But suddenly the line went off.”
“I called again, apologizing for us getting cut off, and repeated that I was at the Regency hotel in New York. Bubbly Elizabeth went all of sudden silent.”
“Only minutes later, it hit me – the Regency hotel! For Elizabeth, the Regency Hotel was ‘the crime scene.’ This is where her husband had drinks at the Library (the name of the bar in the Regency) and locked eyes with Rielle Hunter.”
John Edwards’ affair had begun.
“Then she waited for him outside the hotel at the next light,” she explains of the night Rielle told John he was so hot. “Where everybody’s life changed.”

She developed terminal cancer. Her husband used that to garner sympathy while running for U.S. president, all while cheating on her with Rielle Hunter.
He then knocked Rielle up, lied about it many times, and may have even used political campaign funds to perpetuate a cover-up. Yet she stood by him.
His former aide came across a John Edwards sex tape. Rielle posed like a total hoe in GQ magazine and basically said that the affair was all his wife’s fault.
How long until Elizabeth Edwards takes this b!tch out?!
The Rielle Hunter GQ pictures had to be the last straw. She ripped Elizabeth and says she and John Edwards were in love. Will this private hell even end?
People magazine asks how much more Elizabeth can take, but read between the lines. What they’re really asking is: What’s she going to do about it?
We think that the best defense is a good offense.
We’re not suggesting Elizabeth actually kill Rielle Hunter, or insinuating it’s even crossed her mind, but come on. She’s got to get revenge somehow, some way.
What better way to finish this soap opera, right? She can divorce John and take all his money, but that skank Rielle? She deserves something far, far worse.
Okay, maybe not actual, physical violence. But at least having the fancy house she lives in (and John Edwards paid for) toilet papered to high heaven.

Rielle Hunter “cried for two hours” after seeing those “repulsive” photos of herself in GQ. Pictures she posed and removed her pants for very much willingly.
Just the same, the baby mama of disgraced politician John Edwards is apparently not pleased with several suggestive photographs in the magazine spread.
Oh, boo freaking hoo, Rielle.
First, you took off your own damn pants. Second, you’re the third party in a huge sex scandal in which a politician cheated on his terminally ill wife with you.
In short, just shut the hell up.
How dare GQ print Rielle Hunter pics Rielle Hunter posed for?!?
On The View this morning, co-host Barbara Walters said she had already spoken to Hunter, who trusted photographer Mark Seliger to take “classy photos.”
That’s not entirely how it played out.
What transpired were Rielle Hunter pictures showing her in no pants, a button-down shirt, posing provocatively in pearls on a bed full of stuffed animals.
Quite racy. And weird.
Walters quoted her saying that she “went with the flow” during the GQ photo shoot, which also showed her holding John Edwards love child Frances Quinn.
When asked about the current state of her relationship with Edwards, Hunter reportedly replied, “We are co-parents and have a very loving relationship.”
Rielle Hunter bares her belly. Her soul? Long gone.
Hunter says she’s still in love with “Johnny” and believes he loves her. She saidthat his marriage was “toxic,” and that he feared “the wrath of Elizabeth.”
The weird videographer also confirms her first words to Edwards were, “You’re so hot.” He’s a Casanova, that guy. They met in his room that very night.
No word on when they made the John Edwards sex tape. Word has it she was pregnant at the time, which pretty much ups the grossness factor tenfold.
