It’s no secret that “Born This Way” sounds an awful lot like “Express Yourself,” and Madonna recently chatted about the ‘girl of the moment’ Lady Gaga.
Madge shared, “I certainly think she references me a lot in her work. And sometimes I think it’s amusing and flattering and well-done.”
Specifically regarding the single, though, Madonna seemed less than impressed, “When I heard ['Born This Way'] on the radio … I said, ‘that sounds very familiar’ … It felt reductive.”
“[Gaga is] a very talented artist… she’s making a statement about taking something that was in the Zeitgeist, you know, 20 years ago and turning it inside out and reinterpreting it.”

A few days before Glee airs an hour dedicated to Madonna, featuring the cast performing a number of Material Girl singles, the iconic singer sat down for a sneak peek at the episode.
What did she think?
“I thought the Madonna episode of Glee was brilliant on every level. The dialogue and the entire script was genius. I completely appreciated the layers of irony,” she said in a statement.
Adding that she likes “all the messages about the boys being respectful to girls,” Madonna continued:
“The entire cast was amazing. They’re all so talented. I especially loved Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) and Kurt Hummel’s (Chris Colfer) characters. [Show creator] Ryan Murphy did a great job bringing all these elements together.
[Daughter] Lola loved the show too. I wish I went to a high school like that…If only.”

Celebrity style showdowns don’t get much more risque than this!
Lace is all the rage these days, or at least something a trio of glamorous gals we know dabble in. Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, who’s known for sexy fashion on TV, and Madonna kept things a bit more demure than Lady Gaga, who went all out.
Then again, that’s hardly surprising, and we’ve seen Lady Gaga pictures that are far more revealing. For her, this is par for the course … maybe even tame.
