Despite reports that she still pines for Jon, Kate Gosselin says she’s looking for someone new and is about ready to get back into the dating world.
“I’m kind of out-ish, sort of,” the Kate Plus 8 star said. “You never really picture yourself back in that scene after you’re done with it in your 20s.”
“But I’m trying to be a little more open-minded now,” Kate added. “If there’s anybody out there that wants to deal with us, that would be good.”
JON & KATE: On the same page, albeit not together.
It’s not like the mother of eight, who has gone through personal and media hell and back over the last few years, hasn’t come a long way, though.
“I’m encouraging the kids to enjoy their time with him,” Kate says, referring to ex-hubby Jon, who she’s a lot kinder to in public comments lately.
Kate, who just celebrated her 36th birthday last week, says that when it comes to her ex, she’s “keeping communication as positive as possible.”
Not exactly a convincing, heartwarming statement, but … baby steps.
Speaking of Jon Gosselin, dude has probably has had a half dozen jobs in as many months, but like Kate, he’s gotta do what he’s gotta do to get by.
He used to whore himself out to any mediocre girls that showed interest. Now he’s doing that for any entity that will pay him. The latest – Quiznos.
Seriously, the working stiff is pushing Quiznos promos on Twitter to his (soon to be declining number of) 72,184 followers for around $500 a pop.
How the mighty have fallen. Hope he also gets free subs, at least.

Two of Jon and Kate Gosselin’s eight kids – Collin and Alexis Gosselin, both 6 – have been expelled from a private school in Pennsylvania over “rage issues.”
They are now being homeschooled, a source close to the situation says. Great, so now the wire-haired control freak gets even MORE face time with them.
“They’ve fought with their peers, called them nasty names and made fun of other kids,” a source told In Touch Weekly, which first reported their expulsion.
Simpler times.
“Collin had such bad issues that he refused to get his picture taken at school. He’s tired of being on-camera,” a witness says of the troubled sextuplet.
Others have come to the pair’s defense, claiming that despite reports of violence and bullying, they are not behaving as badly as has been reported.
“The situation is being grossly overstated,” a source says.
“The kids are going through a very challenging time, but Kate doesn’t feel this is something that should be discussed publicly. It is a private matter.”
With the divorce, Kate has acknowledged that the children have had difficult moments, but says in general, they are “amazing, resilient, loving kids.”
Their dad begs to differ, at least as far as how well-adjusted they are. Jon lashed out at Kate for continuing to keep the kids on television, claiming the exposure gives them behavioral and emotional problems at school and beyond.
Basically, he’s a deadbeat and Kate’s a child abuser. Those therapy bills are going to start piling up really, really fast.

Ripped, he’s not. But Jon Gosselin is slightly less fat! Allegedly.
According to In Touch, when he hit beach in Ocean City, N.J., on July 8, “he looked like a new man.” If that’s true, how fat and out of shape was he beforehand?
The dad of eight looked “toned, tanned and healthier than ever” (guess it’s all relative) while strolling the beach with his boring, bikini-clad girlfriend, Ellen Ross.
“Jon’s made time for himself,” says a friend, which he apparently has. “Jon is doing whatever he can to ensure he’ll be around for his kids as long as possible.”
All kidding aside, kudos to Jon Gosselin if that’s true.
His days of heavy drinking, smoking and parading around with mediocre girls made for good gossip, but not a healthy lifestyle. Our one question for you, though …

Still getting used to parenting as a divorcee, Kate Gosselin has confessed that her split from ex husband Jon Gosselin a year back has had its effect on their eight children.
Talking about the family’s struggles, Kate pointed out one instance of which she told People magazine, “[Nine-year-old daughter Cara] was upset with me because I forgot to sign them up for something at school. I said, ‘Cara, I had a really rough year. This is a new year. You’ve got to give me that. Let’s start over.’ So I’ve really worked to keep my word with them.”
And while there have been difficult times, Mama Gosselin says that Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Leah, Aaden, Collin and Joel have been holding up well for the most part. “They’re just amazing, resilient, loving kids.”
The interview comes as Kate readies to jump back into the world of television – as she has a TLC special called “Kate Plus 8″ set to air on June 6.

Kate Gosselin has her hands full with eight kids. For once, we sympathize.
The reality mom, who was recently sent packing from Dancing with the Stars, has returned to parenting duties, and blogs that she’s more referee than mom.
Describing fights among her youngins, she says: “Help! Where is my referee uniform??? Honestly, this is every minute of every day in a house with eight kids!”
“OK, I’ll admit it. There are the sweet moments of love and compassion to balance these never-ending stressful encounters, but for some reason, these unloving loud outbursts are what I tend to remember,” adds the recently-divorced Kate.
How does she stop the bickering (wonder where they get it from)?

“I’m to the point where I hold up my hand and say, ‘I’m not the complaint department, and I don’t like how black and white stripes look on me, so go work it out.”
“If you can’t, I’ll help you.’ And I leave it to them,” writes Gosselin.
She “mentally devises” how she’ll deal with her sextuplets, who just turned six, and twins before “the next time I hear the stampede of unrest coming my way.”
Sometimes, she even considers “running in the other direction and hiding,” she admits of the “emotionally tiring and time consuming” task of raising children. “And there are many more jungle outbursts to be handled, … Help me!!!!!!!!”

Kate Gosselin got the boot from Dancing With the Stars Tuesday night.
The remaining dancers and cast collectively thought: It’s about time.
The mother of eight caused drama before the show even premiered in March, acting like a diva during rehearsals and making crazy demands on set.
Crazy demands like crew members not being allowed to look at her. Seriously. So you can imagine the rejuvenated vibe now that she’s finally gone.
“Everyone couldn’t be more relieved,” a source says … but just wait ’til they have to deal with Rachel Uchitel. That’ll pose a whole new set of issues.
GOOD RIDDANCE, GOSSELIN: That’s the cast and crew’s message for Kate.
“We had to walk on eggshells. At least we don’t have to worry about where our eyes can or can’t drift off to now. Kate just thought that everyone was out to get her. That’s why she had all of those crazy rules, like how she was to be approached.”
There are two ways to look at this, of course.
Kate gets enormous attention, much of it negative, from mainstream and celebrity gossip press. This understandably gets to her, prompting a difficult attitude.
On the flip side, rather than being “out to get her,” perhaps it’s the media’s role to point out what a dreadful human being she is when she leaves us no choice.
It’s a celeb gossip chicken-egg scenario.
“[We] felt bad for the bad press she got,” another Dancing with the Stars source dished. “But sometimes it was deserved!” Sums it up perfectly, if you ask us.
With Nicole Scherzinger, Pamela Anderson – the woman’s got the booty and skillz – Evan Lysacek et al. going strong, the cast is pumped to get back to work.

Bringing back fond memories of last summer, when he couldn’t decide whether or not Michael Lohan represented him or which mediocre girl he was dating, Jon Gosselin denounced comments recently made by … his own lawyer.
Jon says has fired his new attorney, in fact, a week ago.
Which explains the inflammatory statements he made about Kate Gosselin being a shameless self-promoter just hours ago. Jon runs a tight ship.
Earlier this month, Anthony F. List terming Kate an “absentee parent” and filed legal papers seeking full custody of their eight kids on Jon’s behalf.
“Kate, her attorneys and I are moving forward to work out things privately and amicably,” Jon Tweeted today. Who knows what he’ll say tomorrow.
Jon Gosselin needs to get his $h!t together. And get a job.
“Mr. Anthony List Sr., Esq., is not my representing attorney; I terminated him on April 15. He has no legal right to speak to the press on my behalf.”
Maybe you should tell him that, dumbass.
List had said he was a longtime friend of Jon’s late father, Tom, and promised the elder Gosselin that he would help out Jon if the need ever arose.
Looks like that “help” entailed frivolous, mostly baseless legal maneuvers attempting to wrest money and/or control of the kids from Kate Gosselin.
As Hailey Glassman can attest, this idiot clearly needs to take advice from someone he can actually trust, and/or make decisions himself for once.
