It’s no secret that “Born This Way” sounds an awful lot like “Express Yourself,” and Madonna recently chatted about the ‘girl of the moment’ Lady Gaga.
Madge shared, “I certainly think she references me a lot in her work. And sometimes I think it’s amusing and flattering and well-done.”
Specifically regarding the single, though, Madonna seemed less than impressed, “When I heard ['Born This Way'] on the radio … I said, ‘that sounds very familiar’ … It felt reductive.”
“[Gaga is] a very talented artist… she’s making a statement about taking something that was in the Zeitgeist, you know, 20 years ago and turning it inside out and reinterpreting it.”

Thoroughly enjoying her time in her hometown of New York City, Lady Gaga was spotted out to eat last night (July 18).
The “Just Dance” diva hit up Max’s Restaurant in Alphabet City and even gave the paparazzi a special dance performance as she made her exit.
As for the controversy surrounding Gaga’s alleged stealing of Bette Midler’s mermaid-in-a-wheelchair act, Gaga says she had no idea Bette had come up with it first
Midler had tweeted, “Dear @ladygaga if you think a mermaid in a wheelchair seems familiar-it’s because it is!You can see it on youtube 24/7-with ME performing it.”
Lady Gaga replied in an interview, “I had no idea that she did that and I’m a huge Bette Midler fan. Maybe we’re just cut from the same cloth. I couldn’t hop around in that tail so I just stuck myself in a wheelchair.”
She added, “All I’ll say is that I … admire her and find her to be one of the most brilliant and incredible performers, so that’s all I’ll say.”

Lady Gaga served as a guest mentor last night on American Idol.
New tri-colored hairstyle aside, her outfit was fairly run-of-the-mill … save for the GIANT stiletto heels. Heels made out of clear plastic penises.
When Gaga hit the set, producers smacked an American Idol logo over her sexually explicit stilettos because each had a Lucite penis for a heel.
That or they were conveniently cropped just outside the screen. You could say they got the shaft. Note the subtle censorship of the Lady’s footwear …

Phallic footwear aside, Gaga proved in mentoring the Idol stars that an intelligent, thoughtful young woman exists beneath that bombastic persona.
No matter who goes home tonight, this was an experience James Durbin, Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart and Lauren Alaina will never forget.

She’s showed us this aged, refined look once before on her recent Vanity Fair cover, but pop star and fashion icon Lady Gaga apparently decided to run it back.
The singer showed off her gray locks once again as she deaprted the Landmark Hotel this weekend in London, England. What do you think? Can she pull it off?

Finished up with her stay in the British capital city, Lady Gaga boarded her tour bus to grab some grub before hitting the road in London on Monday night (October 25).
The “Just Dance” singer was dressed in all-black getup as she attempted to buy fish and chips from Sea Shell Fish Bar in Maida Vale, though there wasn’t enough parking so her security staff delivered the food straight to the tour bus.
As for her upcoming plans, Gaga is en route to Ireland for shows on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in Dublin.
Also of note, the 24-year-old recently announced another milestone, as she tweeted to her millions of loyal followers: “We reached 1 Billion views on youtube little monsters! If we stick together we can do anything. I dub u kings and queens of youtube! Unite!”
