Elizabeth Smart, who was kidnapped by Brian David Mitchell from her home in 2002 at age 14, only to be found nine months later, is engaged, her father Ed confirms.
“We’re very excited for her,” Ed said Friday. “She told us at home last Saturday.”
“I wasn’t really surprised. They’ve been so happy together. We’re thrilled. We’re looking forward to her moving on to this next stage and leading a very happy life.”
Ed, who is staying mum on wedding details, including the groom’s name, says Elizabeth “wants to keep it very private and feels very strongly about that right now.”
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that wedding registries at Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn list an July 1 wedding date for Elizabeth Smart and Matthew Gilmour.
So, that’s probably his name.
Chris Thomas, a rep for Elizabeth, says he can’t confirm the wedding date or the name of Smart’s fiancé, but says, “I know they’re looking at a summer wedding.”
“There are a lot of details to still be worked out. She’s very public in her child advocacy work, but has decided she wants to keep her personal life private.”

Making for a night in which she’ll always cherish, Stephanie Pratt is all set to walk down the aisle after having gotten engaged over the New Year’s holiday weekend!
The former “Hills” star took to Sin City with a few close friends including fellow MTV reality star alum Lauren Conrad, with the group joining a long list of celebs helping open up Hyde Bellagio inside the Bellagio Resort & Casino on Saturday night (December 31).
Being presented with a glitzy diamond sparkler as she ushered in 2012, Miss Pratt tweeted a picture of the ring the following day while writing,”HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I am still in shock!!”
As for her fiance, Miss Pratt has been carefully keeping her beau’s identity under wraps – though our source tells that the lucky fella happens to be actor/promoter David Osokow.
Clearly pleased with her engaged status, Stephanie voiced her happiness with a New Year’s Day tweet which read, “So far 2012 is awesome!!!! I wish you all good luck, good health and great wealth!! Love u all!!!”

After numerous fizzled out romances, Molly Sims seems to have landed the man of her dreams in movie producer Scott Stuber.
The low-key couple joyously confirmed their plans to settle down together, as the pair got engaged earlier this month.
With Miss Sims’ rep confirming the news, reports tell that Stuber popped the question in Los Angeles over the weekend of May 20th.
The nuptial plans come after 18 months of dating, with Scott being the true gentleman by flying Molly’s parents into Tinseltown to partake in the momentous occasion.
Aside from confirming the plan to wed, no further details or wedding date have been disclosed at the current time.

The sixth season of The Bachelorette just concluded in astonishing fashion as Ali Fedotowsky actually picked Roberto Martinez as the man of her dreams.
The most stunning part was not that she let Chris Lambton go before the final rose ceremony to spare him the agony, but that she picked anyone at all.
For weeks, Bachelorette spoilers suggested that Ali is single – that she either chose no one on the dramatic finale, or had already broken up with Roberto.
Not the case.
As for the “shocking ending” promised by the teasers, the “huge risk” Ali took and the “unprecedented” nature of the finale? Now we know. It wasn’t about the outcome, but how she handled hard-luck Chris in the final episode of the season.
Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez hit it off from day one.
Having fallen in love with his rival, Ali cut Chris loose even before his “last chance” date, breaking the guy’s heart, but earning his respect in the process.

This twist explains the glaring lack of footage of Ali and the guys at final rose ceremony in previews leading up to tonight, because Chris never made it. They couldn’t show just Roberto Martinez, or it would have given it away.
And there you have the much-hyped breaking of rules by Ali Fedotowsky – letting Chris walk, laying it on the line with Roberto and hoping he felt the same.
He does. They are engaged and planning their life together.
The Bachelorette did an uncharacteristically good job of keeping the finale’s outcome a mystery, from Ali’s coy remarks about being “happy with her decision” to the lack of promos. Kudos to them and congratulations to Alberto.

David Schwimmer and Zoe Buckman are getting married. One could say that they’re more than … wait … wait … wait for it just one more second … Friends.

But seriously folks. Zoe Buckman and David Schwimmer are engaged, his rep confirmed to Entertainment Weekly Sunday, and the couple couldn’t be happier.
The actor, best known as Ross Gellar on Friends, reportedly met Buckman, a photographer, while in London directing the 2007 flick Run Fatboy Run.
This will be the first marriage for both. Congrats, guys!

Fresh off of their engagement announcement, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard were spotted side-by-side in Los Angeles, California on Saturday morning (February 6).
The loved up couple enjoyed breakfast with a friend at a local eatery before taking a stroll back to their car hand-in-hand.
With Dax having popped the question over the holidays, insiders tell that a family may be in the near future.
“Kristen is feeling really broody right now,” a source close to the star tells. “She keeps on at Dax about starting a family. They’ve agreed to wait until after they get wed.”
