Miley Cyrus has a cute new puppy, but an ugly new habit.
While on vacation with Liam Hemsworth in Michigan this week, the singer/actress was photographed multiple times with a cigarette in her hand. Check out the photos here.
Naturally, Cyrus has a right to smoke. But does she have a responsibility not to?
Katie Couric argued that point on The View this morning, saying – as a mother of a teenager – she is disappointed that Cyrus is setting this kind of example. The star, after all, simply has to know that cameras follow her every move. She also must be aware of the average age of her fan base.
What do you think? Miley’s lungs, Miley’s problem? Or, come on Miley, an A-list celebrity ought to act like a role model?

Loading up on beverages while prepping for an active day, Miley Cyrus stepped out to visit the local Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Toluca Lake, California on Saturday (February 5).
The former Disney darling was stopped by a group of girls who talked her into posing for a group photo outside the local brew house before heading inside to purchase a large frozen coffee, smoothie, bottled water and a drinkable yogurt.
Wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt and jeans on the weekend excursion, Miley had her new ink job all covered up – as she recently added a fifth tattoo in tribute to her four siblings, Brandi, 23, Trace, 21, Braison, 16, and Noah, 10.
Reports tell that the protective etching is “a picture of the dream catcher that hangs over her bed with four feathers to represent her four brothers and sisters.”
Of her many tats, an insider said, “All of Miley’s tattoos have a deep meaning to her. They all represent family and friends close to her.”

Keeping a low profile as of late, Miley Cyrus ventured out for coffee with friends at Urth Caffe in West Hollywood, CA on Thursday (December 30).
Wearing jean shorts, a long necklace and cowboy boots, the Disney darling picked up her java jumpstart before proceeding forth with the day.
As for the upcoming New Year’s holiday, Miley dished, “I’m really looking forward to 2011. I’ve got some new ideas, I want to go on some cool trips, I want to travel, I want to make this the year that I go out and do what I’m here to do, and that’s to help people and make people happy.”
Miss Cyrus also hinted that she may fit a tour into the schedule so she can “come see [her] fans.”

Turns out, THG isn’t the only one to have a major problem with Miley Cyrus.
Following the release of the singer’s video for “Who Owns My Heart,” which includes the 17-year writhing around in bed, blindfolded, the Parents Television Council has released the following statement:
It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one. It sends messages to her fan base that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fan base so rapidly.
Hmmm… where else did we read something very similar?

What inappropriate, desperate, pathetic image?!?
According to former pop star Tiffany, Miley Cyrus is doing nothing wrong in her attempt to reshape her image and find a more mature audience.
“Miley Cyrus is on a great track,” the singer told Us Weekly over the weekend. “I know that there are a lot of people that say ‘well, when you are so young you shouldn’t be sexy.’ [But] I think that in today’s world you kind of have to be [sexy] to be competitive in the market.
“I think that she is doing it appropriately. And it’s always a fine line there.”
Tiffany, who posed for Playboy in 2002, concluded:
“I’m a huge fan of hers. I think she’s gonna have a long career. Her parents are guiding her right, and it really matters what base you have around you. Very much so.”
It’s safe to say Taylor Momsen doesn’t agree with Tiffany. Do you?

Miley Cyrus may be a colossal disappointment for a variety of reasons, but at least she doesn’t curse, smoke or look like a raccoon at all times.
The same can’t be said for Gossip Girl cast member Taylor Momsen.
Speaking to FHM UK this week, the 16-year old lashed out at critics that compare her to Miley, making it very clear that she doesn’t see any similarities between the pair.
“I’m not looking to be Miley f*cking Cyrus,” Momsen said. “I don’t care about the fame. I do it because I love music. I like making records and if people like them, then we’ll go along for the ride.”
Momsen and Cyrus may both act and sing, but that’s pretty much where the comparisons end. The former fronts rock band The Pretty Reckless, while the latter is nothing more than a Britney Spears wannabe at this point.
Still, Taylor feels a need to distance herself from Miley, adding: “I think the Disney bubblegum shit that the world is living right now is pathetic. I thought we passed that repression.”
It’s unclear what that actually means, but Gossip Girl fans have made their opinion of Momsen and her character well-known: Jenny Humphrey has been written out of most of next season on the show.
Good riddance.
